About This Privacy Policy

Applicability

This Privacy Policy governs information we collect through our website(s), microsite(s), mobile website(s), and mobile applications (collectively, “Sites”) and information we collect from you or third parties through any other means to provide our services or perform other business activities (collectively, “Services”). It does not apply to Personal Information we collect from or about job applicants, employees, or independent contractors.

Privacy Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy is subject to change. It is your responsibility to review the Policy for any revisions or amendments. Unless otherwise stated, changes will be effective immediately upon posting and you accept the changes by continuing to use our Sites or Services. If we determine that a change will result in using previously acquired Personal Information in a materially new way, we will; (1) Provide you notice before such use; and (2) Take any other action necessary under applicable law. Information We Collect

Personal Information

We may collect information that personally identifies, relates to, describes, or is capable of being associated with you (“Personal Information”). The type of Personal Information we collect about you may vary based on how you use our Sites and/or Services and your relationship with us but may include:

  • Identifiers such as name, mailing address, service address, email addresses, phone numbers; social security number, driver’s license or other government identification card information, and SCANA account login information;
  • Other demographic information such as gender, age, marital status, what language(s) you speak, whether you own or rent a property, information related to co-owners or other persons living at the property, household income;
  • Commercial information such as payment card or bank account information, the type(s) of service subscribed to, equipment information, energy consumption or production, service dates, customer type, contract terms, account balance, and status, your utility company and account number;
  • Internet or other electronic network activity information such as browsing/search history, IP address, device information such as device IDs, specifications, and operating system, and other data collected through Cookies;
  • Geolocation data such as non-precise geographic location indicators from devices, service addresses, signed contracts, photos;
  • Audio/visual information such as call recordings, chat transcripts, email correspondence, testimonials, and pictures, images, or diagrams of your properties and equipment (including satellite imagery);
  • Professional/employment information such as employer, occupation;
  • Education information such as education level; and
  • Inferences drawn from other Personal Information or data that relate to your preferences, interests, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes, including credit reports and scores.

Some of the Personal Information listed above qualify as “Sensitive Personal Information” under relevant privacy laws. This could include, but is not limited to, social security numbers, drivers’ license or other government identification card information, and SCANA account login credentials. Each type of Sensitive Personal Information may overlap with a category of Personal Information listed above.

Usage Data and Site Activity

We automatically collect information in connection with the actions you take on our Sites (“Usage Data”), including;

  • Web service information such as the type of web browser you use, and your internet service provider;
  • Device information such as the type of device you use, your device ID, your operating system and version, and your IP address;
  • Web activity information such as the pages you view, referring and exit pages, the date and time of your visit, and the number of clicks to, from, and within our Sites, and the duration of your visits to our Sites.

Among other things, this data helps us estimate our audience size and usage patterns, recognize you when you return to our Sites, store information about your preferences, customize our Sites according to your interests, and speed up your searches. If the data we automatically collect is capable of being associated with you, directly or indirectly, we treat it as Personal Information, otherwise, we treat it as Usage Data.

Communication Recordings

We may record calls and retain the content of text messages, chat transcripts, or other written/electronic communications between you and us. By communicating with us, you consent to our recording and retention of communications.

 

How We Collect Information

From You

We may ask you to provide us with Personal Information when you communicate with us online or offline, including web forms, events, surveys, and marketing or promotional programs. You are not required to provide us your Personal Information; however, if you choose not to provide the requested information, you may not be able to use some or all of the features of our Sites or Services or we may not be able to fulfill your requested interaction. We may also capture your contact information, such as phone numbers and email addresses, when you contact us.

We may collect Personal Information from third-party data sources such as data brokers, marketing and sales agencies or partners, analytics firms, government agencies, utilities, other customers or consumers, and credit reporting agencies.

Some Advertisers are members of the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) or Network Advertising Initiative (NAI), which maintain websites where people can opt-out of targeted advertising from their members. Social Media Widgets

Our Sites may include social media features, such as the Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X widgets. We use Sensitive Personal Information as follows:

  • Social security numbers, drivers’ licenses, government identification cards – to provide the Services, service accounts, collect on accounts, and as otherwise required by law.
  • Bank account numbers, payment card information – to process payment in connection with providing the Services.
  • SCANA account login information – to permit access to customers’ online accounts, and in connection with our security and anti-fraud programs.

We may also use Personal Information and/or Sensitive Personal Information as described to you at the point of collection, with your consent, or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable laws.

Reviews and Testimonials

If you provide a review or testimonial, we may post it publicly on our Sites or in other advertising material. By providing a testimonial, you give us permission to use it in any manner and for any purpose, including in marketing and advertising communications.

Marketing Opt-Outs

In the past twelve months we may have shared each category of Personal Information that we collect (listed above) with Service Providers.

Third-Party Sharing/Selling

We may sell or share (for targeted advertising purposes) your Personal Information with other companies who do not provide services to us (“Third Parties”), including affiliates, social media and analytics companies, data brokers, and other companies that sell consumer products or services. These companies may use your Personal Information for their everyday business purposes, including marketing, customer service, fulfillment, and related purposes. We have not sold your Personal Information in the past twelve months, but reserve the right to do so in the future.

Our Sites may contain links to third party websites, including social media platforms. Please be aware that if you access these links, you will be leaving our site. We encourage users to read the privacy policies of those sites, as we are not responsible for their content, links, or privacy procedures.

We recognize the importance of safeguarding the confidentiality of Personal Information from loss, misuse, or alteration. Accordingly, we employ (without obligation) commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect Personal Information from unauthorized access, disclosure, and use.

Children’s Privacy

Our Sites are not intended for children or minors under 18 years of age. No one under age 18 should provide Personal Information to us or on the Sites.
