SCANA Energy Donates to the Georgia Tech Alexander-Tharpe Fund

SCANA Energy is proud to support Georgia Tech’s Alexander-Tharpe Fund. SCANA Energy makes an annual donation based on how many 3-pointers and touchdowns each Georgia Tech team scores throughout the previous season. The donation amount is $500 per touchdown and $25 per 3-pointer made. In the 2020 season there were a total of 34 touchdowns and 192 3-pointers resulting in a $21,800 donation. Brett Newsom, Vice President of SCANA Energy and Georgia Tech Alum, presented the donation on November 27, 2021 to Todd Stansbury, Georgia Tech Athletic Director.

The Alexander-Tharpe Fund, a division of the Georgia Tech Athletic Association, provides support for student athletes in the form of scholarships, program support, and facility improvements.

SCANA Energy has been a proud partner of Georgia Tech athletics since 2013. SCANA looks forward to continuing this partnership and seeing what Georgia Tech can do through the end of the 2021 season.
