Each month, SCANA Energy makes a $5,000 donation to a local organization. In honor of Black History Month, we’re supporting and highlighting the Atlanta HBCU Alumni Alliance.

The HBCU Alumni Alliance organization in Atlanta provides support for underserved students who are interested in attending HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). They also help HBCUs through scholarship fundraising, alumni reclamation, and student recruitment.

A big part of their organization is supporting the community through programs that promote health and wellness, hunger awareness, and higher education. Through initiatives like annual HBCU Run and Wellness Fair, and SAT preparation courses and tutoring, they help bridge the gap of health and education disparities between African Americans and other demographic groups.
